Thomas Einhorn, MD

Thomas A. Einhorn, M.D. is Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at New York University and Director of Clinical and Translational Research Development at New York University Langone Medical Center Orthopedic Hospital. He is a graduate of Rutgers University and Cornell Medical College, he completed his internship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, orthopaedic residency at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital, and a fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery. His professional interests include research into the role of stem cells in orthopaedic surgery, the repair and regeneration of bone and cartilage, reconstructive surgery of the hip and knee, and the treatment of metabolic bone diseases. He has served as Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Boston University School of Medicine, Chairman of the Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Study Section of the National Institutes of Health and President of the Orthopaedic Research Society.
